4-H Duck Race & 5k Fun Run
Sunday, April 29, 2012-Come watch 3600 bright yellow rubber ducks tumble over Cascadilla Falls then bob down the creek in a frantic and fabulous race to the 4-H Education Center on Willow Avenue. Top finishing ducks win great prizes, donated by area businesses and other sponsors. A fun run through the Fall Creek neighborhood to beautiful Stewart Park and back kicks off the festivities and attracts 150 or more runners of all ages and abilities. Games and refreshments are available throughout the day at the Education Center. See our "Program of Quack-tivities" for full details and times.
HOW IT WORKS
Each Spring, 4-H members and volunteers team up to put on this fun, family-friendly event that raises as much as $10,000 for 4-H programs in Tompkins County. Individuals take "Chances" on numbered rubber ducks in the race, at $5/duck or $20/a flock of 5 ducks. See "How To Enter".
PRIZES
A $500 Cash "Nest Egg" goes to the first duck across the finish line. 50 more Runner-Up prizes will be awarded to winning ducks. Fun run (3.4 miles) prizes are awarded for best time overall and 3-deep in each age category. See our "Sponsors" and the complete list of prizes.
You need not be present to win, but why miss the fun?!! All proceeds benefit 4-H Youth Programs in Tompkins County and the annual 4-H Acres Youth Fair.
