Youth in grades 9 - 12 are invited to explore veterinary medicine through this six-week, mini-course for those with a sincere interest in biology, medicine and animals. Each session is taught by a different team of Cornell veterinary students, and lessons will incorporate guest presentations by veterinary professors and utilize the vast teaching resources of the Cornell Vet School. Individual classes will focus on a different species group of animals, including cats and dogs, horses, ruminants, exotics and wildlife. Hands-on activities will include practicing a physical exam, discovering the inner workings of the rumen, handling a wide variety of animals, learning about different anatomy, and getting messy with dissection.
