Have you ever wanted to make your own fire by friction or build a shelter from snow or sticks that would keep you warm & dry? Can you build a fire in any weather and cook a delicious meal without a pot? Come join our Central Fire – a new program created for women to explore primitive skills in a supportive, exciting environment. The central fire is the core, the place where ideas evolve, are shared, and come to fruition. For us the central fire is the invitation to stretch ourselves, to dive into new skills, and to celebrate the community of other women on a similar journey. Come explore the fundamental skills of fire, water, shelter, and food, and have a great time doing it! We’ll practice skills and strengthen our connections to the earth, each other, and ourselves.
No previous experience is necessary, simply a sense of curiosity and a desire to learn. This will be an intimate group, with no more than 10 participants. We will immerse ourselves in a different aspect of primitive skills each time, tying them all together with a fire and shared meal in the last hour. Each month we’ll include basic awareness practices that you can integrate into your home lives and continue on your own. You can expect fires, wanders in the woods, nature journaling, carving and wildcrafting, laughter, song, invitations to stretch yourself, and an increased sense of confidence in survival skills.
