Spend the day on a Tompkins County dairy farm at this FREE, family-friendly event! Learn about cows and crops and meet the people who care for them. Farm City Day highlights include farm tour wagon rides, visiting the calves and cows, dairy food samples with the Tompkins County Dairy Princess and her court (who also make and serve a GIANT ice cream sundae for the crowd) and MORE! Make veggie animals and spin the "wheel of dairy"! Find out what cows eat! Talk with a farm veterinarian and learn what they do. Displays from TC Soil & Water Conservation District, Groundswell and others. You’ll also find some delightful local products for sale from other Town of Ithaca and nearby farmers, like honey and jams, fruits, vegetables, eggs and cheese – and an opportunity to take a chance on the beautiful hand-quilted, full-size Ohio Star-pattern Enfield Community Quilt! Try the Cornell Recipe Chicken BBQ at the Food Concession when you get hungry. Plenty of parking and restrooms. For more information: Debbie Teeter, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, (607) 272-2292 or DLT22@cornell.edu.
