Lead Renovators Certification Course

Renovators who renovate, repair or paint houses built before 1978 now are required to obtain certification by taking an EPA-approved course.

The new rule, which went into effect on April 22, 2010, applies to all home improvements that disturb more than 6 square feet of interior, or 20 square feet of exterior lead paint, or presumed lead paint.
