Celebrate scarecrows, pumpkins, and everything autumn at the annual Scarecrow Jubilee and Pumpkin Jam at Ithaca Children's Garden. We'll have scarecrow making, pumpkin carving, an apple taste test, pumpkins for sale, music and refreshments. There's plenty of fun for all ages!
Details: ICG will provide all the materials you'll need to create a scarecrow of your own. Staff from Cayuga Landscape and volunteers will be on hand to help you master the basic construction. We'll have pumpkins for sale at bargain prices and lots of kid-safe carving tools so you can create a jack-o-lantern and leave your goop with us. Also plenty of harvest-themed hands-on activities: visit the pumpkin station, make a felt crow, and create a seed mosaic and a gourd critter. A performance by entertainer Judy Stock, music, and food round out the event.
The event is free but donations are welcomed. The Garden is located at the southern end of Cass Park on Rt. 89 in Ithaca. For more information, contact Leigh MacDonald-Rizzo, 272-2292 x186 or LAM26@cornell.edu.
