Master Food Preserver Training

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County will be offering a Master Food Preserver training, taught by Cornell Cooperative Extension food preservation experts. This is a 3-day program for those who would like to go beyond the basics of home food preservation. However, no prior experience in food preservation is required.

Class will be held: Tuesday, June 28 to Thursday, June 30th, from 8:30am to 4:30pm (all 3 days)

Participants will learn the science of food preservation, boiling water bath canning, pressure canning, freezing and drying foods, quick pickling, and making jam/jelly using the safest, most updated information available.

Those who attend the full 3-days and choose to take the exam will receive a Certificate of Participation.  Those wishing to become a 'CCETC Master Food Preserver' will need to apply and meet additional requirements.

This is a hands-on training, so space is limited.  It will be held on the Cornell University campus. Please contact Carole Fisher if you have questions or would like to register (607) 272-2292.
