Open Days Garden Tour - Roberson Garden

The gardens are home to a unique blend of flowers, trees, and grasses that represent the plants that thrive in upstate New York. Throughout, the textures present themselves in a variety of ways from bird baths to cairns, to the plants themselves. The gardens provide sanctuary for birds and butterflies. Vines wind their way up the house, making it integral to the garden. As you wander you will see the nuances that a garden can give: colors, scents, and structure, the tangible beauty of nature. All of this, surrounding an historic 1890 farmhouse with lots of borrowed scenery of hills and cornfields.

Directions (see map below)

From Ithaca area, take route 13 north to the four corners in Dryden. Take a left at the light. You will be on North Road/13 heading towards Cortland. Drive approximately one mile on 13/North Road. You will see the road curve to the right to go past Tompkins Cortland Community College - don't do this! Instead, go straight (you will actually be making a slight left from route 13) onto the continuation of North Road. The next left is Mott Rd. Go left on Mott Rd. and drive ½ mile to #124.

See a slide show of the Roberson Garden.
