Way2Go: ADA Paratransit

Bus & Paratransit Services for people with disabilities

Public transit is for everyone. If you are mobility impaired or have a disability, you are still entitled to use public transit. When boarding the bus, using the lift and or asking the driver to 'kneel' or lower the bus may be of assistance. Riders can also bring strollers, walkers or carts onto the bus, as long as the aisle is kept clear.

If the bus doesn't work for you

If you are unable to use Tompkins County's public transportation buses because of a disability, you are legally entitled to comparable service, known as ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) Paratransit Services. Tompkins Consolidted Area Transit (TCAT) contracts with Gadabout to provide such service: door-to-door, on-demand transportation for people with disabilities that covers the same areas and times as the bus.
