Taxis & Reserved Rides

Taxis and reserved rides

With 24/7, on-demand, door-to-door services, taxis fulfill around 600 local trips a day and can be a key main transportation strategy, as well as a back-up option. With the average cost of owning a car at about $20 a day, getting around with a mix of walking, bicycling, busing, carsharing, ridesharing, car rental and taxis instead could save you thousands of dollars a year.

Other rides by reservation include Gadabout, serving older adults and people with disabilities. Volunteer ride services can sometimes provide rides for those without other options, given advance notice, especially people with disabilities, low-income households, seniors, and those needing rides to school meetings.
