Volunteer Instructions
Timeline
| 10:45am: | Cornell Into the Streets volunteers meet at Anabel Taylor Hall to register and fill out release forms |
| 11:00am: | Into the Streets teams leave for staging sites. We will assign your team to one of 6 sites throughout Tompkins County via e-mail prior to the event. |
| 11:30am: | All volunteers arrive at their site. Food, role-play exercise, and route assignments |
| 12:15pm: | Volunteers (in pairs) leave on routes |
| 3:15pm: | Volunteers meet back at staging site |
| 3:30pm: | Complete evaluations and go home |
Sites and Transportation
Into the Streets volunteers will be assigned to one of 6 staging sites throughout the county via e-mail on Friday. When you arrive at Anabel Taylor you will receive directions to your site.
IMPORTANT: We are depending on your team to provide transportation to the sites (unless you already told the Public Service Center otherwise). If you cannot provide transportation for your team let us know ASAP.
What to bring
- Warm clothes and rain gear! The weather forecast for Saturday is partly cloudy with a high in the upper 40s. Some routes are walking routes, so plan on being outside for 3 hours.
- Large backpack (if you don't have one, borrow one or use the largest totebag you can find). You will use the bag to carry bulbs and bags.
- Refillable water bottle
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Umbrella
- Bright clothes for pedestrian safety
- Cell phone
- Clipboards (if you have them). Very helpful for filling out your tracking spreadsheet.

*Note: Cornell Into the Streets volunteers MUST meet at Anabel Taylor Hall at 10:45am for registration. Community volunteers may meet directly at one of the 6 sites assigned below:
