Bathroom

What to Do:

Energy Savings in the bathroom mainly center around reducing hot water usage:

  1. Install aerators on all faucets, to reduce hot water flow rates to less than half the rates with regular faucets without aerators.
  2. Replace regular showerheads with low flow showerheads and cut hot water usage by 40-50%.

Savings:

  1. Aerators will save $3-$5/year per aerator.
  2. Low flow showerheads will save $25-$50/year. Homes with gas-heated hot water will save less while homes with electric hot water heaters will save more.
