  • Wednesday, March 20, 2019, 9:45 AM - 2:30 PM

The 2019 Beyond the Box Networking & Job Fair for individuals who are seeking employment and community reintegration after experiencing incarceration or criminal convictions will be held on Wednesday, March 20, from 10:00am to 2:30pm at the Hotel Ithaca, 222 S Cayuga Street in Ithaca, New York. Admission is free for job seekers, and for exhibitors who wish to meet candidates who are seeking employment and community reintegration after experiencing incarceration or criminal convictions.

Keynote speaker is Shirley M. Collado, President of Ithaca College.

Presentation: The fair will include an educational presentation for businesses on employing job seekers who may have criminal records or are currently under state supervision. Topics will include: effective ways to recruit, hire and retain workers, as well as what resources are available to support your business in working with this growing labor pool.

About the Job Fair: Now in its 2nd year, the Beyond the Box Reentry Job Fair is organized by Ultimate Reentry Opportunity (URO), a community-initiated and community-supported program that works collaboratively to help formerly incarcerated women and men access the resources to successfully rejoin their local communities. This year’s fair honors the memory of Gino Bush, a local activist who was committed to helping the formerly incarcerated.

About URO: This annual event is organized by Ultimate Reentry Opportunity (URO), a community-initiated and community-supported program that works collaboratively to help formerly incarcerated women and men access the resources to successfully rejoin their local communities. The campaign is housed at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, which is also its fiscal sponsor.
