The kitchen may sometimes feel like the realm of adults where kids feel like they are just in the way. This fall, our expert team of foodies wants to help you find your place in the exciting, tasty and empowering world of cooking. Learning to cook is a great way for teens and tweens to boost self confidence and self reliance, be more helpful to busy parents and have more fun at home. Each week, you and your new friends will pack a lunch for school and prepare a nutritious dinner and eat together. You’ll also be in charge of the playlist!!!

Who: 9-14 year olds

What: Class includes nutrition lessons, cooking lessons, gardening and agriculture awareness, field trips, sweet tunes and will culminate in family dinner on December 15. Limit 20, so sign up today!

Where: CCE-Tompkins Teaching Kitchen, 615 Willow Ave., Ithaca, NY

When: 4-6pm Sundays, 11/3, 11/10, 11/17, 12/1, 12/8, 12/15 (last meeting is 4-7 for family meal with parents/guardians)

Cost: Single class is offered on a self-determined sliding scale for $20-$50. Series of 6 classes for $120-$240. Class is FREE for ICSD Farm-to-Table 4th grade participants.
