Beautification Brigade

Volunteers with the Tompkins County Community Beautification Program are called the "Beautification Brigade".  They  help to make Ithaca more beautiful while learning useful gardening tips and techniques. The Brigade plants and maintains spring and summer flowers on city traffic medians and the Ithaca Commons.  Training is held annually in March and is free and open to anyone who wants to volunteer with the program.

Clubs, service groups, schools, fraternities and sororities are all welcome to volunteer!  From April to October, there are a wide variety of gardening and landscaping projects in Ithaca that can use YOUR HELP!  Your group can adopt a planting  for a season, or help out on a one-time basis. We need the most help during the second half of May and June.

The next Beautification Brigade trainings are scheduled for Wednesday March 21 and Wednesday March 28, 2012. For more details, contact Dan Klein at dek22@cornell.edu.
