Chestnut Permaculture Garden Build
On October 10, 2010, approximately 150 community members were involved in creating a permaculture garden at the Chestnut Apartments in Ithaca. Participants included residents of the Chestnut Apartments and the West Hill community. The build was organized by Anna Ortiz, with assistance from other Gardens 4 Humanity volunteers,Kirtrina Baxter, Gail Blake, Elan Shapiro, Neisha Butler, Zale Hutchinson, the Urban West Village 4-H program (coordinated by Jamila Wilda Simon) and others from the community.

The Chestnut Permaculture Garden Build was part of the 10.10.10 day of action coordinated by 350.org, an international campaign to unite the world around solutions to the climate crisis.
