2012 Garden Plots Available
If you would like to start a garden this spring, but don't have any available land, consider renting a plot in one of the following community gardens in Tompkins County.
CITY OF ITHACA
PROJECT GROWING HOPE ITHACA COMMUNITY GARDEN
Register: To join Project Growing Hope& apply for a garden plot, please send your name, address, and phone number to: ithacagardens@yahoo.com or to Project Growing Hope, PO Box 606, Ithaca, NY 14851. You will be placed on the New Gardener waiting list and we will send you a registration form if plots are available. New Gardeners are limited to 1 plot at registration.
Plot size: 15 x 15, up to 280 SF
Garden Location: Rt. 13 at Third Street, in Carpenter Park - DOWNTOWN
Fees: Membership and plot fee is $25 per year ($5 member fee and $20 plot use fee for water, tools, manure, etc.). Scholarships are available for those unable to afford the full fee.
Work requirement: 4 hour minimum work commitment per year (or pay $10 per hour not worked) to help maintain the Gardens, and gardeners are also expected to participate

CORNELL COMMUNITY GARDEN EAST HILL
Register: new members can register after 6 PM on April 8 or attend the Plot Distribution Day Saturday, April 23, 9 AM, in Thurston Hall, Room 102

Garden Location: Freese Rd. between Hanshaw and Dryden, near the Cornell Dyce Honey Bee Lab
Fees: $20 per plot
TOWN OF ITHACA
COMMUNITY GARDEN AT LINDERMANN CREEK APARTMENTS - WEST HILL
Register: Call Town of Ithaca Clerk at 273-1721 for an application or go to the office at 215 N. Tioga St. to sign up.
Plot Size: 10 x 10 or 20 x 20
Garden Location: Rt 79, West Hill, turn into Linderman Creek apartment complex and drive north and west up the hill at the back of the apartment complex
Fees: $15 for 10x10 or $25 for 20x20
WOOD'S EARTH COMMUNITY GARDENS (new site in 2012)
Register: Choose the size of your garden plot in our fenced, organic site. Open to gardeners as early as April 1.

Location: Located on Routes13 South & 327, bordering Robert Treman State Park. The gardens are tucked in the woods away from the road, but easy to access from Ithaca.
Additional amenities: Water, sheds, mulch and compost, some tools. Youth and adult education available on-site. Some garden supplies available for purchase.
Fees: $0.25 per square foot. 10% discount before March 15. 20% discount on group or large plots of 1,000 sq. ft. or more.
TOWN OF DRYDEN
DRYDEN COMMUNITY GARDEN Near the DRYDEN TOWN HALL

Plot Size: 10 x 10, gardeners may reserve multiple plots
Garden Location: behind the Town of Dryden Town Hall, 93 E. Main St. Dryden. Park in the Town lot, walk into the field to west from the old barn
Fees: $10 per plot
TOWN OF LANSING
ALL SAINTS CHURCH COMMUNITY GARDEN
Register: call Andra Benson, 607-342-2147
Plot size: shared garden space, no individual plots, fenced, raised beds and open ground.
Location: All Saints Church, 347 Ridge Rd., Lansing
Fees: no fees, come work and in exchange get produce to take home.
EAST SHORE COMMUNITY GARDEN - GARDENS OF GRACE

Garden Location: East Shore Christian Fellowship, 2049 East Shore Drive (Rt.34) behind the church
Fees: $20 deposit (returned at the end of the garden season provided rules are followed)
LANSING COMMUNITY GARDEN - COMMON FIELD INC.

Plot size: various sized plots depending on needs
Amenities: Posts set for fencing, water available, organic
Garden Location: 320 Peruville Rd., Rt 34B, Lansing (opposite house at 339 Peruville Rd.)
Fees: No charge
