Open Days Garden Tours
The Tompkins County Community Beautification Program coordinates local participation in The Open Days Garden Tours, a national event sponsored by The Garden Conservancy. These private gardens are open to the public on one day only. The gardens are selected because they have that "something special". Visitors can drop-in at any or all of the gardens on their own schedule during the hours that the garden is open. The cost is $5 per person per garden, with proceeds split between the Tompkins County Community Beautification Program and the national Garden Conservancy. The tour goes on rain or shine.
The 2012 Tompkins County Open Days Garden Tour will be Saturday August 4, 2012, 10:00 - 4:00. The four gardens on the tour will be
- Steve Austin's garden in the City of Ithaca
- Emily Makepeace's 'Sanity Garden' in the City of Ithaca
- Nancy Ridenour's lotus garden in the Town of Ithaca
- Cindy Roberson's garden in Dryden
