The Directory

The directory is a guide to the building materials offered within a 100 mile radius of Ithaca, NY. It is designed to help homeowners, contractors, builders, anyone really, to realize the diversity and breadth of products available locally. The directory is divided by product type and indicates if the product is a raw material, manufactured good or locally-owned vendor. Similar to other directories and guidebooks, ours is formatted to enable the consumer to make educated purchasing decisions that stimulate the economy, in this case, the local economy! Make it work for you by taking an active role in using it. Whatever your project, however big or small, there are local resources available to you--take advantage! And let us know your thoughts.

The dynamic nature of the economy lends itself to changes in local businesses. Inevitably, this directory may not include everyone within 100 miles of Ithaca who manufactures or carries locally made building supplies. You can help us make it more complete by e-mailing or calling us with additional information. Also, if you are looking for a particular material, there are many contractors and artisans who custom design and create products ranging from ceramic tiles to countertops, all types of wood trim to cabinets, and more. Contact Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County for additional resources or to make a suggestion.
