Consumer Helpline

The Consumer HelpLine is a community education effort offered through the Consumer Education Program of CCE-Tompkins. Its purpose is to assist consumers in making wise consumer decisions and increasing awareness of their rights and responsibilities in the marketplace by offering unbiased educational information and/or resources as requested.

Trained volunteers are available to help consumers explore their options regarding various consumer issues. The HelpLine is generally staffed Monday-Friday from 10:00am-2:00pm, or you may call and leave a message that briefly describes your consumer issue, and a volunteer will call you back.  Topics that volunteers can help you with are listed below.

Be a Consumer HelpLine Volunteer!

We provide training for volunteers who assist consumers in identifying and exploring the options available to solve their consumer concerns. Learn about a variety of issues and resources and help others at the same time. Call Carole Fisher for more information, and for a volunteer application.  Read more about Volunteer Opportunities at CCE-Tompkins.
