DESCRIPTION:Join City of Ithaca Foresty Technician Jeanne Grace and Cornell Entomologist Mark Whitmore for this information session on the Emerald Ash Borer\, a pest that is likely to invade ash trees our area in the next 10 years. Emerald Ash Borer was found in Western NY last year and it spreads at a rate of about 20 miles per year unless it is spread via infested firewood.&nbsp\; This workshop provides instruction on how to monitor for the pest\, the life cycle and what to expect once it arrives.&nbsp\; The workshop is open to nursery and tree specialists\, and the general public.&nbsp\; Note":" EAB only affects ASH\, so if your property does not have any ash trees\, other trees are not affected.&nbsp\;FREE workshop!&nbsp\; Because space is limited\, we ask that you call (607) 272-2292 to pre-register. Email Maria Christian at mjc72@cornell.edu for more information.Photo of Emerald Ash Borer courtesy of the Pennsylvania Dept. of Conservation &amp\; Natural Resources Forestry Archive\, Bugwood.org.\nhttp://ccetompkins.org/calendar/10/04/16/emerald-ash-borer-educational-workshop
