Eating Smart Being Active

Eating Smart Being Active classes are offered for parents with young children every Thursday morning from 10:00 am - 12:00 Noon at the Cooperative Extension Education Center.  Lunch is provided.  This 8 session series helps you gain knowledge to feed yourself and your family healthy, affordable and tasty food.  Classes are ongoing, so join any time! The lesson topics are:

  • Plan, Shop, $ave
  • Vary Your Veggies...Focus on Fruits
  • Make Half Your Grains Whole
  • Build Strong Bones
  • Go Lean with Protein
  • Make a Change
  • Celebrate! Eat Smart & Be Active

We ask you to plan to attend at least 6 of the classes so that you will learn as much as possible, and can receive a "certificate of completion". Class participants also receive items such as: a water bottle, grocery shopping list, produce brush, measuring cup set, stretch band and physical activity booklet, food thermometer, measuring spoon set and a Recipe Book.

 

Individuals who are eligible for WIC, Medicaid, Food Stamps or similar programs can attend this FREE workshop series.
