Healthy Children, Healthy Families

Healthy Children, Healthy Families is a 7-class series (plus a graduation meeting!) that helps parents and guardians learn new skills that will help them encourage their children to be more active and eat healthier meals and snacks!  Meet other parents and share parenting tips that work for you!  Learn new recipes and socialize!  Discover useful ways to encourage your child to drink more water or milk (instead of sweetened drinks) and to eat fewer high-fat & high-sugar foods, and MORE!.  Classes are fun and hands-on and each one includes a recipe and an activity that you can share at home! Visit our Calendar of Events to find out when the next class series will meet!

The lesson topics are:

  • Introduction
  • Think Your Drink
  • Eating More Fruits & Vegetables
  • Playing Actively
  • Making Healthier Choices Easier
  • Sit Less - Reducing Screen Time
  • Having Sensible Servings & Family Meals
  • Celebrate! Heathy Children, Healthy Families

Please plan to come to at least 6 of the classes so that you will learn as much as possible, and can receive a "certificate of completion". Class participants also receive items such as: a water bottle, grocery shopping list, produce brush, measuring cup set, stretch band and physical activity booklet, food thermometer, measuring spoon set and a Recipe Book.
