Bicycling

RIBS (Recycle Ithaca's Bicycles) of Southside Community Center: helps with access to bicycles and bicycle repair. Contact Mustafa Ali at recycleithacasbicycles@gmail.com or call Southside at 607-273-4190.

Friends Bike Clinics: are free weekly bike repair gatherings in Ithaca NY April to September.

Bike Walk Tompkins: Advocates, educates, and motivates Ithaca and Tompkins County to improve conditions that make walking & biking safe and accessible for people of all ages and skill levels.


Buses

TCAT Buses: Call for information on bus routes, low-cost semester youth passes, or discount fares for youth, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities: 607-277-7433 (277-RIDE).

Gadabout: Rides by reservation for people 60 or over, or people with disabilities. $1.50 per one-way trip within the City of Ithaca; $2.00 for trips that start or end outside city limits: 607-273-1878.

ADA para-transit service: is available for persons with disabilities who are unable to ride TCAT. Rides are provided by Gadabout. New Freedom extends range across county. To learn more and apply for eligibility, call TCAT: 607-277-9388, ext 420. To reserve rides, call 2 business days in advance: 607-273-1878.

Regional buses: Greyhound; local: 607-272-7930; national: 800-231-2222. Greyhound also has information on Trailways and CoachUSA/Shortline routes.


Carshare & Rideshare

Ithaca Carshare: membership plans offer hourly access to cars across Ithaca. Easy Access Plan for income-qualified members: 607-277-3210, ask at GIAC, Southside Community Ctr. or contact Way2Go.

Zimride Finger Lakes Ridesharea localized tool to find rides or riders to share driving and costs of trips. Contact Way2Go for more information.

vRide Vanpooling: Groups of 5 to 14 riders pay monthly to commute in a comfortable, reliable van. Call 800-826-7433 or contact Way2Go.

Volunteer Ride Services

American Cancer Society Road to Recovery: often has volunteers to take cancer patients for active cancer treatments, surgery and medications-related appointments, including into/out of Tompkins County. Ride requests must be made 5 business days in advance: 800-227-2345.

Healthcare-related trips in Tompkins County: FISH (Friends in Service Helping), for those without access to other transportation. Make request many days in advance by dialing 2-1-1 or 877-211-8667.

Rides to school meetings or activities: by RED (Retired Educators Drive) volunteers. Email requests to redschoolrides@gmail.com or call RED Coordinator Carrie Kerr at 607-659-5003.
