Communities are defined in many different ways by the diverse people who belong to them. Here at CCE-Tompkins, we work with communities of all kinds and configurations, providing training, resources and facilitation to help individuals, groups and municipalities identify the issues that are most important to them, to envision potential strategies and solutions, and to organize and take action for change.

About Us!
Our staff coordinates educational programs that:
- help individuals learn about the rich human diversity in our local communities;
- identify and nurture natural leadership abilities and help equip individuals take on meaningful and more active leadership roles;
- allow residents to make informed decisions about their transportation options; and that help citizens mobilize for action around topics of common interest, such as creating neighborhood gardens or improving the nutritional quality of school lunches.
- We also facilitate community dialogue on local policy issues, from creating community consensus on how to solve traffic problems in an urban neighborhood, to deciding how to reuse a rural firehouse building.
