REGISTRATION IS CLOSED FOR THIS TRAINING. This two-day Parenting Skills / Strength-based Communication Skills training will help prepare professionals to conduct or make referrals to the Parenting Skills Workshop Series©, conduct the Parenting Skills for Literacy Series, and reinforce and use the five communication skills -- Encouragement, Can Do, Shared Decision Making, Self-Control, and Respecting Feelings -- daily in their own lives.

More than 300 people have attended this professional development training. Some have gone on to facilitate the 8-week “Parenting the Hardest Job in the World” workshop series (PS: It Works! Workshop Series ) for more than 1,000 parents/caregivers in Tompkins County between 2005 and now.  Past participants include parenting educators, DSS personnel, social workers, teachers, child care providers, mental health professionals, alcohol & drug rehab counselors, human service workers, counselors, coaches and people working with people!
