Come learn a variety of nutrition topics and recipes with Sarah Curless, the SNAP-Ed Nutrition Educator for Tompkins County, with the support of the Tompkins County Public Library! These FREE Zoom classes are focused around seasonality, holidays, and cooking tips and tricks. To register, click on the link below, and it takes you to the first workshop in the series. There is a button on the left, “Also occurs on,” that when it’s clicked on will show the dates of the other sessions. 4/28: Holi 
Learn about the Hindu festival of spring and colors, and some of the delicious ways it is celebrated. Also, try making our version of Indian Vegetable and Rice Skillet Meal!

5/5: Happy, Healthy Easter
Find out how to celebrate this holiday in a healthy way and how to cook on a budget for a large group. We will also be learning how to make “Our Favorite Egg Salad”!

5/12: Mediterranean Food
Taste and learn about the foods grown and consumed in this part of the world. Explore how to make hummus without needing any tahini!

5/19: Movin’ May
Explore how to exercise without spending too much money on equipment and gym memberships. Also, learn how to make simple and healthy dishes like Picnic Chicken Salad!

5/26: Comfort Food Switch Ups
Learn how to take some of your favorite comfort foods and put a healthy twist on them. Try it out with this recipe for Broccoli Macaroni and Cheese!

6/2: Mindful Eating
Explore how to slow down when it comes to eating and appreciating your food. Also, make this Tomato Bruschetta with us!

6/9: Rethink Your Drink
Sugary drinks are hard on our bodies, and we will learn about why water and fruit drinks are the way to go. Also, explore how to make healthy but tasty Lemonade!

6/16: Staying Active in the Finger Lakes
Come learn about different trails and outdoor activity clubs and resources in this part of the country, as well as different exercises that you can do outdoors. Try making this “Fruit Pizza” breakfast before heading out on the trails!

6/23: Different Nutrients and Where to Find Them
Explore the world of nutrients with this class about what you can eat to support different types of health. Then, dig in with this Spring Green Salad!

6/30: Foods to Cool You Down
Learn about foods that will keep your home and your body cool, while still being quick, easy, and healthy. Also, cook along with us in making this Kale Dip!

7/7: Cooling Herbs and Spices
Explore herbs that cool your body down, as well as other health benefits that they provide. Join us in making this Massaged Kale Salad to keep you cool as well!

7/14: Happy Fourth!
Learn about more foods that keep you cool and continue celebrating the Fourth of July and barbecue season. Try making this Cowboy Salad as an example!

7/21: Nature’s Bounty is Back
Come learn about what produce is available throughout the spring, summer, and fall in Upstate New York. Also, try making some Grilled Cheese with Peaches in preparation for peach season!

7/28: A Peach of a Season
Learn ways to prepare and freeze different seasonal vegetables in this class, as well as try some more peach recipes, such as this Peach Salsa!

8/4: Vegetables on Parade
Expand your knowledge of local fruits and vegetables that are available this time of year, and where to get them for less money or for free. Also, learn how to make this Tasty Taco Rice Salad recipe!

8/11: Peary Thankful
Explore more salads to make this time of year that use up those fresh veggies, as well as the nutrients and benefits that these vegetables give us. Also, learn how to make a Cobb Salad with Pears!

8/18: Slaw Slaying
