Selecting and Planting Bulbs for a Beautiful Spring

  • Saturday, October 15, 2022, 10:00 AM - 11:30 AM

Fall is the time to plant bulbs for a colorful spring display. In this class, we will teach you how to plan for 3+ months of spring bulbs in bloom. The class will cover different bulb varieties, planting and growing tips, deer and rodent resistant bulbs, and design tips to help you plan a spectacular bulb display. There will be a demonstration of how to pot up and 'force' bulbs for indoor blooms in winter, followed by a short bulb planting demonstration outdoors.

Chrys Gardener currently teaches online courses in Organic Gardening and Garden Design at Cornell's School of Integrated Plant Science and manages an ecological garden design and installation business with her husband. Chrys was formerly a horticultural educator at CCE Tompkins, specializing in community gardens and county beautification. She is also a dedicated food gardener, producing most of their vegetables and fruits for the year on their small homestead.
