Roses are often considered a difficult group of plants to grow. But with the right selection, roses can be a joy to have in your garden and do not take a lot of work.
Learn about the "easy care" roses that not only survive but flourish in the Finger Lakes. Proper care of these roses will also be discussed -- planting, fertilizing, and pruning.
Lee Ginenthal is the owner of Der Rosenmeister Nursery in Ithaca, NY. He has been gardening since he was a young boy and growing roses for the past thirty years. A retired teacher and staff trainer for the Ithaca City School District, Lee is a Consulting Rosarian for the American Rose Society and a member of the NY State Nursery & Landscape Association.
