Eco Steward: Ithaca's Invasive Species

  • Monday, May 10, 2021, 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Learn about some of the invasive species present in the Ithaca area. We will discuss how to identify these species, the damage they can cause to the local ecosystem, and different methods of how to eradicate these pests.

The City of Ithaca Parks Dept is launching a new volunteer program to engage city residents in helping to improve the Six Mile Creek Natural Area, home to the City’s drinking water reservoir. In 2020, the Natural area was heavily used by citizens eager to be outdoors. The City of Ithaca is starting a new volunteer program to engage residents in helping protect and preserve our natural resources.

Anyone interested in the program should contact – Kevin Vorstadt, City of Ithaca Forestry Technician: kvorstadt@cityofithaca.org

Training is free and open to the public.

This program is offered with support from Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County.
