Additional Masks & Sanitizer for Farmers

A second delivery of 6,000 masks, 900 gallons and 1,000 2-oz bottles of sanitizer was received in late June from the NY State Department of Agriculture & Markets, and is now available for pickup by Tompkins County ag producers. Curbside pickups can be scheduled on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, by contacting Maria Christian at mjc72@cornell.edu or 607-272-2292 x130.

When you make your reservation, please specify the # of 1-gallon and 2-oz bottles of sanitizer and # of masks you would like, along with the date and time you’d like to come to the CCE Tompkins office at 615 Willow Avenue in Ithaca for pickup

Suggested Guidelines: For each employee (including owners and employed family), one gallon of sanitizer, one 2-oz bottle of sanitizer and five masks per employee, but please request according to your need.

Once we confirm the amount for pickup, the farmer should fill out the state-mandated reporting form. This is required before you can pick up your supplies.

Upon arrival at the CCE office, remain in your vehicle in the CCE parking lot and call Maria at 607-272-2292 x130. She will bring the sanitizer and masks to the door. Once she returns inside the building, you may take the items to place in your vehicle.

Meet Our New Ag Staff

With our Ag staff being new this year, we’d like to use this as an opportunity to get to know our farming community. If you can’t make it to Ithaca to pick up but have time to chat at your farm, please reach out and we’ll schedule a time to bring whatever you need and introduce ourselves.

Special thanks to Tompkins County Farm Bureau, Tompkins County SWCD, the Tompkins COVID-19 Food Task Force, the Cornell Farmworkers Program, and our CCE partners at the South Central Dairy Team for assisting with this distribution effort – as well as our partners on campus and at NYSDAM for making this possible.

Please share this email notice with other farmers in your community, as we do not have email addresses for all of our local producers. Contact Graham at gs695@cornell.edu to have your contact information added to the Agriculture Team’s contact list for potential future distributions and other information.
