EV Education and CCE-Tompkins

CCE-Tompkins serves as an educational resource and network spanning EV owners (prospective and current), car dealerships, utilities, transportation and energy agencies and organizations.

CCE-Tompkins builds on the work of EV Tompkins in 2018, a collaboration among government, businesses, non-profits, educational institutions, and drivers to bring together all the necessary elements of an electrified transportation system.

The aim is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from transportation through the adoption of EVs by being a trusted source of neutral, unbiased, evidence-based information to help Tompkins county residents make informed decisions in their next vehicle purchase.

Guiding Principles

  • We provide updated information that is easy to understand and relevant locally and nationally.
  • We reduce the sense of unfamiliarity with EVs through broad range of programming.
  • We provide guidance on EVs from multiple perspectives: policy, technology, consumer needs and experiences, energy, as well as transportation.
  • We respond to community needs for clear and accurate information through fact-checking and synthesis.
  • We collaborate with important stakeholders in transportation and energy to share resources and enhance learning across networks.
