The 16th Annual Streets Alive! Ithaca festival, hosted by Bike Walk Tompkins, will take place on Sunday, September 19 from 1:00 to 5:00pm. when Cayuga Street from Ithaca High School to Court Street will be closed to motorized vehicles.
Since Streets Alive! first began in 2012, it has delighted thousands of people with the opportunity to play, walk, ride and wander safely on the streets for an afternoon. Many community groups host activities and events, so there is something fun and educational for visitors of all ages!
Our Way2Go community mobility program is a co-sponsor of the Streets Alive! Ithaca event. Be sure to visit them and see new TCAT and Ithaca Carshare Elective Vehicles on display. Talk with them about how biking, walking, skating and public transportation can get you where you want to go.
The Get Your Greenback Tompkins program housed at CCE-Tompkins will bring the tiny PowerHouse to Streets Alive this weekend. It will be parked in the Ithaca High School praking lot for the duration of the festival.
An enthusiastic team of individuals and organizations make this event safe and fun. Volunteers aged 16 and up are invited to join our Intersection Superheroes. Those interested in volunteering can sign up for a shift at https://forms.gle/8JQYr43RgCeRDJZL6. Get more info on Streets Alive! here.
