Help promote responsible composting in Tompkins County as a Master Composter volunteer! Free training involves 20 hours of class time covering composting in depth, and 20 hours of volunteer time (the "practical internship"). After training, Master Composters give back to the community in a variety of outreach activities.
The 2017 Master Composter volunteer training will be held on 10 Thursday evenings, 6:30 to 8:30pm from February 8 to May 3 at Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County, 615 Willow Avenue.
To accommodate various school breaks / holidays, etc., class will *not* be held on three Thursdays during this time period: 2/22, 3/15 and 4/05. The 10 training classes include a a preparation night for the Compost Fair (to be held Sunday, April 29, 2018), and a graduation during the final class in May.
