Primary attendees targeted are highway crew leaders, superintendents, and road crews. Secondarily municipal supervisors, mayors, and engineering departments are welcome.
Please attend our ditch management training focusing on practical, hands on information for best practices of ditch maintenance for roadways and water quality. Topics to be covered include: purpose of ditches; ditches and the environment; ditch shape, size, and lining issues; maintenance BMPs; and alternative designs and practices. Agenda.
The session is organized by the Tompkins County Water Resource Council and content will be delivered by the Cornell Local Roads Program and Tompkins County Soil and Water Conservation District.
The workshop will run in the morning with site visits in the afternoon. Morning refreshments and lunch provided.
