Showcase of Local Agriculture @ Apple Harvest Festival

This year's Apple Harvest Festival will feature a new "Showcase of Local Agriculture" in Press Bay Alley & Court on W. Green Street.  Stop by to chat with local farmers, learn about farming practices, and taste or buy some of the products they have to sell. A list of participating producers follows.

SATURDAY FARMS

• Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County – Learn about Tompkins County agriculture – what we produce here, where to get it, and more
• Finger Lakes Beekeepers Club – learn all about keeping bees, honey and honey products, and how to get involved
• Finger Lakes Wine Flour – did you know flour can be made from grapes
• Friendship Donations Network– learn about food that is rescued and donated to folks in need – and buy a ticket for the Harvest Feast Fundraiser
• Golden Grove Farm – wool and wool products
• Greentree Supply – locally produced soil mixes and biochar to increase the productivity of your soil and capture carbon
• The Learning Farm, Ithaca – youth engaged in learning about farming and foods – plus enjoy juice they make to support their programs
• Little Leaf Mead Works – all things bees – and bee products; mead tasting and sales
• Local Fiber- area fiber farmers will share information about fiber and fiber products they produce
• Nook & Cranny Farm – beautiful organic vegetables
• Sage Hen Farm, Lodi – Rare and old varieties of garlic, apples, potatoes, and diverse veggies, grown organically
• Shelterbelt Farm – diversified farm with livestock, bees & honey, ginger products and more
• Steinhaus Farm –  maple syrup
• Tompkins County Farm to School Program – hear about connections between school cafeterias and local farms for healthy school meals
• Tompkins County Farm Bureau – talk with farmers about our farming industry
• Tompkins County 4-H Animal Science Program – hear about the many ways in which 4-H programs teach kids about animal husbandry – and meet some of the animals that kids are raising
• VanNoble Farm - pasture raised pigs...and local farm catering company

SUNDAY FARMS

• Cayuta Sun Farm – permaculture raised livestock
