Join us to watch 3000 bright yellow rubber ducks tumble over the Cascadilla Creek falls at the Cornell Botanic Gardens Cascadilla Gorge Trail then bob down the creek in a frantic and fabulous race to raise funds for 4-H programs in Tompkins County.
The race begins at 2PM when the ducks are dropped into Cascadilla Falls at the Cornell Botanic Gardens Cascadilla Gorge Trail (intersection of University Avenue and Linn Street in downtown Ithaca ). Walk through charming Ithaca neighborhoods as you follow the ducks down the stream to the finish line at the Cooperative Extension Education Center on Willow Avenue.
At the Education Center, you'll find refreshments, live music and entertainment, activities for kids, and the ever-popular COMPOST FAIR all afternoon long! Stick around and see if your duck came in first to win the $750 CASH "NEST EGG" top prize, or one of many other great donated prizes that will be given out for the top 50 winning ducks at the event. All proceeds support 4-H youth programs in Tompkins County! Buy your DUCK CHANCES HERE!!
Get all the details on our main 4-H DUCK RACE page.
PLEASE NOTE: the rubber ducks are NOT released into the lake! Duck "wranglers" follow the ducks on their journey down the creek and make sure they don't get stuck along the way, then volunteers capture ducks at the finish line. 4-H is concerned about our lake too!]
FREE to watch. Duck chances are $5/each or $20 for a flock of 5.
