Our Horticulture Program will distribute free seeds and veggie plant starts at Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County at 615 Willow Avenue on Saturday, June 13th from 10 am until noon or until all the seeds and plant starts are given away.

This giveaway will include packs of seeds that can go into the ground right away or be grown on a windowsill for fresh leafy greens or micro-greens.  CCE-Tompkins staff members will be on hand to answer questions (from an appropriate distance).

Our Master Gardener Volunteers have created a spreadsheet with growing information about the specific varieties of seed we are distributing. Find it at this link: Seed Info.

In addition, Cornell maintains a home vegetable growing guide with lots of great and simple to navigate info about growing your veggies. Find it at this link: Home Growing Guide.

Our Master Gardeners will be starting a Grow-Along project in which they will be growing the exact same seeds you have received.  Send your email to to join the Grow-Along and get updates with how-to guides, videos, and tips for what to do if you run into a challenge.
