For 2021, our Horticulture Program is planning to hold a series of seed and plant giveaways of curated collections of seeds and donated seedlings. We are prioritizing BIPOC community members, disabled or elderly folks, and low income families between 10-11:30 am and everyone else is welcome after 11:30.
We plan to have 3 giveaways:
All are welcome, seeds and plants will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis. This giveaway will include packs of seeds that must be started inside under lights or in a warm spot with bright sunlight. CCE-Tompkins staff members and Master Gardeners will be on hand to answer questions (from an appropriate distance).
General and specific variety growing information will be provided for the specific varieties of seed we are distributing.
In addition, Cornell maintains a home vegetable growing guide with lots of great and simple tips about growing flowers and veggies. Find it at this link: Home Growing Guide.
