The Compost Education Program supports the goals of the Solid Waste Management Division to divert compostable materials from the waste stream and thereby maximize waste reduction in Tompkins County. This mission is achieved by training and supporting community volunteers to educate and enthuse the public about the benefits and methods of composting.

Celebrate spring's arrival at the annual Compost Fair at Tompkins County Cooperative Extension! In conjunction with the 4H Duck Race, this event is fun and educational for kids of all ages.
Sunday, April 24th is a day of fun that raises $$$ for 4-H in Tompkins County, including a 5k "Color Run", and a rubber duck race down Cascadilla Creek!
