Garden Tour- August 24th

Discover some of the gardens around Ithaca focused on education and community building, Saturday, August 24. Details on each site including open hours and activities will be added as they are finalized! All gardens are located in Ithaca.

  • Ithaca Children’s Garden (121 Turtle Ln) open sunrise to sunset, will be leading tours at 12pm and at 1pm, that will start and end inside on the main green near the Kids' Kitchen and the Hands on Nature Anarchy Zone (ICG's main entrance). People can reach out to Trey Ramsey in advance if they have any questions or accommodations needs.
  • The Soil Factory (142 Ithaca Beer Dr) open 4pm-6pm, has four exciting garden projects on site. The Marshy Garden, a native plant restoration project, the Straw Bale Garden which explores the use or Organic Underutilized Resources in garden design and fertilization (including pee-cycling), a nascent Food Forest, the OJI:SDA' Indigenous Sustainable Futures medicinal plant garden, and newly planted Miyawaki Forest! Tours of the whole area will start as groups arrive and information about each project will be available.
  • Ithaca Community Gardens (Cayuga Park Lane) open 10am-2pm, will lead tours of their new location. Tours will start as groups arrive, come with your questions on community gardening!
  • The Learning Farm (272 Enfield Falls Rd) open 2pm-4pm 

Ithaca Children's Garden is an award-winning, 3-acre public children’s garden designed for kids, enjoyed by all, and driven by a mission to connect children to nature to create a more beautiful, resilient and just world. Ithaca Children's Garden is always open sunrise to sunset.

The Soil Factory is an art-science warehouse space with experimental garden spaces. The main garden focuses on the use of organic underutilized resources to construct low cost raised beds.

Ithaca Community Gardens is devoted to furthering community food self-sufficiency. We are a vibrant community of gardeners and area residents with interests in food policy and food justice. Garden Tour hours: 8:00am-2:00pm

The Learning Farm is a sanctuary for learning, growth, and community. Founded on the principles of equity, sustainability, and play, our mission is to connect people with the land, with each other, and with the bounty of fresh, local food.
