2020 Plant Sale at Ithaca Farmers' Market

Spring Garden Fair & Plant Sale

Friday, May 14 & Friday, May 21 @ Ithaca Farmers' Market

  • 2:00-3:00pm for seniors/compromised

  • 3:00-7:00pm open to the public

This year, because of COVID restrictions, we once again will hold the Plant Sale at the Ithaca Farmers' Market Pavilion with check-in entry to ensure the pavilion does not get overly-crowded. There are NO TICKETS this year, our new Friday hours set aside times for seniors and those who are immuno-compromised, and ensure that everyone will get a full weekend of planting time after purchasing your plants.

One of the Finger Lakes' most highly anticipated gardening events is the annual Spring Garden Fair and Plant Sale, organized since 1982 by Master Gardener volunteers from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County.

The Garden Fair & Plant Sale features a wide variety of vendors who offer specialty plants and gardening advice on topics ranging from growing rock garden plants to selecting native species for the garden. Plants for sale include organically grown and heirloom vegetable transplants, colorful annuals, fragrant herbs, hanging baskets, small flowering shrubs, hardy roses, fruit crops, trees, evergreens, and specialty perennials.

Master Gardeners from CCE-Tompkins and other community groups participate in the sale to raise funds or create awareness of their programs. In past years, these have included members of the Finger Lakes Beekeepers, Auraca Herbarists, the Finger Lakes Native Plant Society, CCE-Tompkins Master Composter Program, several smaller garden clubs, and the Adirondack Chapter of the Rock Garden Society.

Visitors are encouraged to bring carts or wagons to aid in transporting their plant purchases to their cars. Admission is FREE!

We will update this page with participating vendors, once they are confirmed.

Below is a list of vendors & gardening groups from previous years.  If you would like to become a vendor, please contact Maria Christian at mjc72@cornell.edu for a registration form and information about boot fees.
