AARP Driver Refresher Courses

This classroom course is offered by the AARP for a fee of $20.00 for current AARP members, or $25.00 for non-members. This is the nation's oldest refresher course for all drivers, with a focus on older adults. There are no tests and the entire course is classroom based. Way2Go offers these workshops in partnership with the AARP quarterly.

Senior Drivers, Alternative Transportation, & Family Conversations

Older drivers and their friends and family are often concerned with whether and how older drivers can stay safe longer, alternative ways of getting around, and family conversations and decisions around these issues. Way2Go can consult with individuals, family members, or helping professionals to offer information and resources on all of these topics.

Check the right hand column for upcoming workshops or events, or give us a call with questions or requests. You can also visit Lifelong online to view their course catalog.

Topics covered include:

  • Facts and stats on aging's effects on driving
  • What drivers can do to stay safer longer
  • Types and benefits of driver assessments
  • Tips for effective family conversations
  • Options for when safety is an ongoing concern
  • Medical transportation information
  • Information on using transit, and ½ price TCAT passes for seniors
