SCNY Dairy & Field Crops Team

The South Central NY Dairy & Field Crops Program serves Chemung, Cortland, Tioga & Tompkins Counties to help producers meet their goals and enhance dairy farm profitability to maintain a strong dairy industry in the region. 

The South Central NY Dairy and Field Crops Program works with farmers on:

  • Dairy Feeds and Feeding

  • Organic Dairy Transition
  • Crop Insurance Education

Dairy farms dominate the farm landscape, and they account for 2/3 to 3/4 of the farm sales in the region. Abundant natural rainfall and a great tradition of dairy farming makes the Northeast an important dairy-producing area of the country.
