Protective Factors Framework Training

CCE-Tompkins with support of Family and Children’s Service of Ithaca KINECT program announces a FREE 4-day Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework training for professionals who work with vulnerable families, especially those who have been affected by abuse and neglect. Classes will be held on (4) Fridays, January 15, 22, 29 and February 5, times vary (see below).

  • CEU’s are available for Licensed Social Workers for a nominal processing fee.
  • Registration will be confirmed by January 8.
  • Depending on availability, it is possible to attend not all of the sections of training, but priority will be given to those who indicate they will be able to attend the whole series.

About the Training:

The National Alliance of Children’s Trust and Prevention Funds is pleased to make available training to support implementation of the Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework in multiple settings. The curriculum includes promising strategies to diminish the likelihood of child abuse or neglect in families. This course will serve as a resource to support, expand, and enhance the work done to strengthen and support families.

  • Day 1: Introduction to the Protective Factors Framework (Friday, Jan. 15, 2016 9:00-11:00am)
  • Day 2: Concrete Support in Times of Need / Knowledge of Parenting & Child Development (Friday, Jan. 22, 2016 8:30am-1:00pm)
  • Day 3: Parental Resilience / Social and Emotional Competence of Children (Friday, Jan. 29, 2016 8:30am-1:00pm)
  • Day 4: Social Connections / Moving from Knowledge to Action (Friday, Feb. 5, 2016, 8:30am-1:00pm)
