Fruit leather, dried herbs, jerky, and more! If one of your 2025 resolutions is to reduce food waste or learn more about food preservation, dehydrating is a great place to start. Come learn about the ways that you can dehydrate food at home, either with a dehydrator or in your oven. We'll talk about safety, logistics, and food quality and then will try some techniques out for ourselves.
Instructor Aly Trombitas is the Agriculture & Horticulture Educator at CCE Tompkins. She has completed the statewide Master Food Preserver training and started formally (and enthusiastically) teaching food preservation in 2023. She has many years of experience teaching all ages about food, environment, and agriculture.
This program is valued at $35, however, please pay what you are able. Paying more than $35 will help others attend the class. If you cannot afford the lowest cost option of $15, please contact us, scholarships are available.
