Tompkins County Open Farm Day

Join us for Tompkins County Open Farm Day, a celebration of farms and farmers in our county! This year's Open Farm Day focuses on the west half of the county and features farms in Newfield, Trumansburg, Ulysses, and Ithaca. Come visit our farms as they open their gates to the public and teach us all about what it takes day-to-day to produce food for our community. Family-friendly and open to all! See online map below, and find paper copies of the map at: Ithaca Agway, Ulysses-Philomathic Library, Newfield Public Library, Tompkins County Public Library, Trumansburg Main St Market, Indian Creek Farm, Gourdlandia, Danby Food & Drink, Goldenrod Depot, and CCE Tompkins.

This event is free, however, donations help us keep future programming costs low for our community. 

Farms include: 

• Dirtbaby Farm: a small scale diversified vegetable and cut flower farm; certified organic, we cultivate strong appetites, healthy soil, and supportive communities.
• Glenwood Farm: 6th-generation family farm raising bison and bees. Guests will be given a walking tour, farmers market coupons to be applied to your purchase of Waids Honey or candles at our Farm Store or at Ithaca Farmers Market.
• Kestrel Perch, a project of New Roots Charter School: Open 10am-2pm. Small scale berry farm primarily run by New Roots high school students.
• Littletree Orchards: Tours at 10, 12, and 2. Restroom available. Family owned apple orchard with u-pick and apple-based products.
• Oechsner Farms: a 1,200 acre certified organic/regenerative food grade grain farm which grows and processes grain for local businesses Farmer Ground Flour and Wide Awake Bakery, as well other mills, malt houses, distilleries and bakeries all over the northeast.
• Ramble On Farm: a 50-acre agroforestry farm, planted with over 5,000 trees: chestnuts, black locust, hickory, and 20 different types of fruit, all for both conservation and production.
• Springweather Farm: Regenerative, organic family dairy farm with additional farm animals.
• Three Story Farm: Tours at 10:15, 11:15, 12:15, and 1:15. Regenerative agriculture farm producing chestnuts, hazelnuts and a native plant nursery.
