Transportation Focus Groups Application Deadline

Do you face obstacles in accessing transportation, or does the lack of transportation or safety limit where you can go? Would you like to share your experiences or ideas for solutions to help improve access to transportation and thus your quality of life?
Sign up by Tuesday, September 13 to be selected for one of six Focus Groups being held from Sept. 19 to Sept. 30, dates and times are listed below.

UPDATE: The Youth/Parents/Guardians Focus Group is rescheduled to Sept 21st from 7-8:30 to avoid a scheduling conflict with other Ithaca City School events. We encourage you to sign up to focus groups even if the time doesn’t work for you so that we may follow up with another time or way to be engaged in the needs assessment.
Focus Group Dates and Times:
- Youth (18 and under) and their Parents/Caregivers/Guardians (9/21 from 7-8:30 pm)
- People with a physical or mental disability, limitation/Caregiver (9/27 from 7-8:30 pm)
- Seniors (55+), retired, elder/ Caregiver (9/22 from 2-3:30 pm)
- People who have Limited English Proficiency/Interpreter (9/27 from 9:15-10:45 am)
- People identifying as Black, Indigenous, People of Color, Asian (9/27 from 6-7:30 pm)
- People with limited access to transportation (9/29 from 12:15-1:45pm)
We particularly encourage signups from people who live in a rural area, have limited income, or identify as LGBTQ+.
About the Focus Groups

Each group is limited to 6-8 people with only 6 questions asked
about your transportation needs in Tompkins County in the 1.5- hour
session. We will contact you to let you know if you have been selected.

The discussion and your answers will remain anonymous.

The focus groups are being conducted as part of a
Transportation Equity Needs Assessment for Tompkins County by the
Tompkins County Transportation Equity Coalition*.
- You will be sent a gift card for your participation from Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County’s Way2Go program after the conclusion of the focus group.

The Tompkins County Transportation Equity Coalition thanks you for helping us to better understand and address transportation needs and barriers in the county. The group is comprised of staff members from Way2Go, Cornell Cooperative Extension Tompkins County, Center For Community Transportation, Bike Walk Tompkins,Ithaca Carshare, TCAT, GoIthaca, Ithaca Tompkins County Transportation Council, Mobility as A Service, and the Tompkins County Department of Social Services.
