Wood Pellet Boiler/Stove Funding
This page gives descriptions of and contact information for New York State and Federal incentives, grants, and loan programs that apply to wood pellet boilers and stoves. It also includes information about programs related to energy efficiency building improvements that - if applied - would allow you to decrease the cost and size of your heating appliance, while saving you energy and money over time and making your space more comfortable.
Numerous options that will pay up to 45% of installed cost (65% for income-qualified individuals) with an additional $5,000 for documented recycling (removal and destruction) of old outdoor or indoor wood boiler, or $2,500 for recycling a whole house wood furnace.
For rural small business and ag producers – business needs
separation from house – can be used for energy efficiency. Gives priority to biomass energy options.

- Loan guarantee for $600,000 or less 80% of costs
- Boiler maker and user of pellets must have 1
years' worth of installation experience

- 3 years in agricultural school tax exemption
- Energy use is part of business plan
- Long-term, low-cost financing for energy-related building improvements—with repayments made through the annual City or County property tax bill
- Available on a county basis - is available in Tompkins
- Eligible New York municipalities can participate by passing a local law that enables the municipality to offer Energize NY services, signing an agreement with Energy Improvement Corporation (EIC), a New York State non-profit, local development corporation, and formally requesting membership
