Tompkins Families! invites you to join us for our monthly meeting of Coalition for Families!

Join us in person at Cornell Cooperative Extension or online via Zoom, December 13, noon-1pm to hear from LawNY with Jason Hogue, Esq.

Come on out (or tune in) for a presentation by supervising attorney, Jason Hogue, Esq. from LawNY reentry team to discuss barriers to employment due to criminal records. Arrest and conviction records create barriers and unexpected challenges for people looking for employment. That's why it's important to know your rights so you're not unfairly discriminated against. Attendees will learn:

  • What types of conviction records does NYS keep and how you can access them
  • What employers can legally ask about and see regarding your convictions
  • What kind of help/legal relief may be available to you as well as how to apply, such as record sealing and certificates of rehabilitation
  • How and when to request a conviction record for personal review
  • How to obtain professional assistance to correct errors

All community members, parents and professionals are welcome!

Registration is required. There is no cost to attend.
